Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS), the leading national automotive event of the year, is held in Russia in accordance with the exhibition calendar of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles (OICA) every other year on even years.

During all previous years, including the periods of the world economic crisis, organizational level and quality of expositions of the Moscow Autosalon were highly appreciated both by its participants Р the leading global car makers, and visitors Р numerous army of motorists, and also heads of the international exhibition structures which are engaged in the organization of motor shows in many countries. Constructive cooperation between the organizers of the project, representatives of automobile companies and the Automobile Manufacturers Committee of the Association of European Businesses in Russia contributed to the successful holding of the exhibitions. Today the interaction resulted in the presentation of an adequate exposition.

Moscow International Automobile Salon is a milestone event for the development of the automobile industry in our country and serves as an extra incentive for filling of the Russian market by modern and qualitative cars. The main objective of the project is demonstration of the latest novelties of national and global automotive industry.

MIAS is a meeting place for representatives of the automobile business, the platform for business communication, acquisition of new contacts, carrying out productive negotiations, the conclusion of mutually advantageous contracts.

Since 2006 the Moscow International Automobile Salon has become a significant event in the automobile life of Russia. Today it is ranked among the top five European motor shows alongside with the Geneva, Paris and Frankfurt auto shows.

Each 2 years despite of the crises the Salon brings together in Moscow the world automobile companies showing to Russian consumers both the models of vehicle which are already available in the automobile market and the models of the nearest future including concept cars.

And if some 10-12 years ago cars on methane or electricity were considered as a long-term outlook then today they are already a technology of mass production.

Today we live during a widespread introduction of digital technologies and can confidently predict: in 5-6 years period driverless vehicles which are still considered as a long-term outlook will be if not mass then considerably presented vehicles on our roads.

Every year the constructive and ecological safety of cars increases, energy consumption decreases. A vehicle from just a transportation mean transforms to a mobile workplace providing communication with office, home, family, colleagues and friends.

Everybody will have an opportunity to see everything, I have told about before, at the Moscow International Automobile Salon 2018.

Besides the Moscow International Automotive Forum will be held for the first time within the frames of the Moscow Autosalon. It is planned to discuss the prospects of development of the global and Russian automotive industry, introduction of information technologies in ensuring of constructiveness and ecological safety, to consider issues related to ensuring cyber security of automotive vehicles and their users.

Presidential premiere at Moscow Autosalon 2018

8 June 2018

The world premiere of cars designed on the Singular Modular Platform under the AURUS brand will take place at the Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engine Institute NAMI stand within the frames of the Moscow Autosalon 2018. The job of designing and building the official state car was given to NAMI which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The armored limousine is powered by a 4.4 liter V8 engine jointly developed by NAMI and Porsche. Kazmirchuk, head of advanced technologies and development at NAMI, said that while NAMI had assistance from Porsche Engineering for its 4.6 liter 650 hp V8, the other two engines, including a V12 6.6 liter, 860 hp engine and the new four cylinder were created in-house.

Project Kortezh, officially called the Unified Modular Platform, envisions the creation of a family of luxury vehicles, including a limousine, sedan and minivan, based on a single platform. The vehicles, developed by the NAMI State Research Center in cooperation with automotive holding company Sollers, are expected to be marketed under the AURUS brand (a blend of the Latin word Aurum, i.e. 'Gold' – and Rus, Russia). All AURUS cars are united into a single concept. The model range was inspired by the Kremlin towers. The limousine and sedan are Senat. The minivan is Arsenal. There's also Komendant, the future SUV.

The Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engine Institute NAMI was founded October 16, 1918. The history of the foundation and development of NAMI is tightly linked with the history of the national automobile industry. During the lifetime of the institute, its staff made a great contribution to the development of the national automobile industry, manufacturing of tractors and engine-building for road vehicles and aviation and greatly influenced the scientific progress in these fields.

NAMI today is one of the main developers of the Strategic Plan of the Russian Automobile Industry Development approved by the Decree of the Government of Russia.
